ECMTA - European Chamber Music Teachers´Association

The mission of the Association is the non-profit promotion of chamber music activity and education in Europe. For this purpose the Association shall organize chamber music activities , for example, courses, educational events and conferences, as well as editing pedagogical materials and cooperating with music institutes. The Association shall make proposals and initiatives to enhance the position of chamber music activity.

ECMTA recruites both institutional and private members. The Association organizes the administration and the registration and gives information of the activities organized in the future.

The Association expresses its will to cooporate with other pedagogic associations and institutions like EPTA, ESTA; EVTA; AEC; European music academies and conservatoires.

ECMTA at Ascoli Piceno Festival

Please note: due to budget restraints, the dates and program of the Festival have been slightly modified: this gathering will take place from Friday evening September 24 to Monday afternoon September 27. The next "gathering" of the ECMTA will take place September 24-27 2010, during the Ascoli Piceno Festival in Italy. ECMTA members will be admitted free of charge to all festival events, and thematic discussions will be organised with festival artists. Discussion will include the creation of a work group for the design of chamber music curricula.

An open stage is planned in which all members who so desire may participate. And as always, members may propose to give a presentation about their current or future projects. Assistance with transportation and lodging may be possible.

Please note: the next General Meeting will take place at the Conservatorio 'Santa Cecilia' in Rome (and not at the Accademia, as previously announced).
