Next General Meeting: April 1 (18h30) to April 3 (18h30) at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome
With special thanks to Director Edda Silverstri and ECMTA member Roberto Galletto for their kind welcome, the next general meeting will take place in Rome. The meeting will feature as always masterclasses, a member project forum, student/teacher concerts, and a general business meeting. In addition, there will be two round-table discussion groups with invited guests and members, organized on the following themes:

  • Teaching musicians to teach chamber music
With Gunta Sproge (Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music), Petras Kunca (Lithuanian Academy of Music), Christophe Giovaninetti (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris), Gunta Melbarde (Jāzeps Mediņš Riga 1st Music School)
  • The chamber music market in focus: creativity in chamber music career development
With Michael Nieuwenhuizen (Muziekcentrum nederlands), Benoît Debuyst (Festival de Wallonie), Daniel Koschitzki, (Spark - the classical band, Karlsruhe), Richard Ireland (Chamber Studio, London), Umberto Clerici (Trio di Torino)

Tour of Rome: Roberto Galletto has proposed a guided bus tour starting at 17h30 on Sunday. This can be done only if there is a sufficient number of reservations. Please contact Roberto immediately if you are interested.

For more program details and inscription form visit ECMTA's website.

Members wishing to give members' forum presentations or give a masterclass must send in their inscription form to Roberto Galletto as quickly as possible (March 15 at the latest, but the program might be already complete by then, so it is best not to wait).

New Partner for meeting in Rome
ECMTA is pleased to announce that the Accademia degli Archi/Archi Magazine will join us for the meeting in Rome. Vice-President Luca Lucibello and Silvia Mancini will make a presentation of the activities of the Accademia on Sunday morning, and an information stand with copies of the magazine will be available all weekend.

Membership fees are due!
Everyone should have received electronic invoices in December. The official deadline for dues was January 30th. But it is not too late. The process is very simple:

  • accept the invoice in order to get a printable version with all of our bank details for payment
  • proceed to make a bank transfer
  • be sure to indicate the reference number and the invoice number in your payment

Note that on the invoice your own address might be indicated as being in Finland - please ignore this slight technical error, it is not important.
Some members noticed that the invoice notice was treated as spam. Please check your spam files if you have not received your notice.

New ECMTA Brochure
A colorful new paper brochure has been printed with information in seven languages, with many lovely photos by ECMTA members. We will be pleased to send them to you, just address your request, with the precise number and address to which they should be sent, to evan.rothstein@ecmta.eu.

ECMTA on Facebook
As announced, the Facebook page of ECMTA is up and running since the end of December. I am pleased to note that the page has received over 1000 visits up to today. If you are on Facebook yourself, please suggest that your friends visit and "like" our page and website.
