ECMTA at Ascoli Piceno Festival

Please note: due to budget restraints, the dates and program of the Festival have been slightly modified: this gathering will take place from Friday evening September 24 to Monday afternoon September 27. Please consult the attached program, and be sure to send in your inscription for to Michael Flaksman: mflx@gmx.net

The next "gathering" of the ECMTA will take place September 24-27 2010, during the Ascoli Piceno Festival in Italy. ECMTA members will be admitted free of charge to all festival events, and thematic discussions will be organised with festival artists. Discussion will include the creation of a work group for the design of chamber music curricula.

An open stage is planned in which all members who so desire may participate. And as always, members may propose to give a presentation about their current or future projects. Assistance with transportation and lodging may be possible.

The provisional program, travel and lodging information is available below, as well as the inscription form.

The program of the festival is available on the festival website: http://www.ascolipicenofestival.com

A new chamber music curriculum development work group
At the suggestion of Vice-Chairman Keijo Aho, an informal work group will be launched at the gathering in Ascoli Piceno which will focus on chamber music curriculum development. Members who are interested in working on creating chamber music diplomas in their schools or who have experience in this domain are invited to join in. The work group will take the form of an on-going discussion forum, and we hope to present their results at the general meeting in Rome in April. Already participating are Robert Schenk (Gothenburg Academy of Music and Drama), Marje Lohuaru (Estonian Academy of Music), Keijo Aho (Metropolia University Helsinki), and José Manuel Gil (Concerto Malaga).  If you are interested please contact evan.rothstein019@gmail.com

Please note: the next General Meeting will take place at the Conservatorio 'Santa Cecilia' in Rome (and not at the Accademia, as previously announced).

Remember to reserve April 1-3 2011 for the next ECMTA General Meeting at the Conservatorio 'Santa Cecilia' in Rome.
