A WAY TO BRING MUSICIANS TOGETHER
A WAY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE SKILLS
A WAY TO PASS ON AND REVITALIZE OUR MUSICAL HERITAGE

Welcome to the Website of European Chamber Music Teachers' Association!

ECMTA is a network devoted to enhancing the visibility and the image of chamber music teaching and performing in both the musical community and among social, cultural and political actors on the European scene.

ECMTA welcomes both institutional and private members, and currently represents teachers in more than 16 countries. The ECMTA is an important forum for information, exchanging views, staying in contact, and keeping chamber music alive.

Next General Meeting in Tallinn

The next general meeting will take place in Tallinn at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre on May 4-6 2012, in parallel with the International Student Chamber Music Festival. The festival, which began in 1966 as a Baltic country project, has been more recently organized every two years also with non-Baltic partners.

In additions to the events of the festival – masterclasses, student concerts, conferences – ECMTA will be organizing its usual members’ forum, round tables, and of course the general meeting.  Inscription forms will be available in January. For information about the preceding edition of this festival, which was in Stuttgart, take a look at this article from the ECMTA newsletter archives.

Inscription for ECMTA members is free! Non-members must pay 30 euros, but this fee can be used as a downpayment on membership fees if you should choose to join later.
