Artistic director Jano Lisboa, has announced the creation of a new festival/academy for chamber music in Viana for highly qualified young chamber musicians. Accepted ensembles and musicians attend the academy entirely free of charge, and benefit from coachings and performances with resident artists (Kuss Quartet, Endellion Quartet, and Peter Donahoe). Mr. Lisboa was member of the Quatuor Benaïm during 2007-08, with whom he toured through Europe, Japan and Israel. He is now a member of the Münchener Kammerorchester.
The academy is open to string players, pianists, string quartets and trios, piano quartets and trios by live audition or audition tape. Live auditions will take place in March in a number of European cities. The January deadline has been extended to February 28. Information can be obtained for highly qualified candidates.
