Orlando Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary

on .

The Orlando Festival, held in and around the beautiful abbey of Rolduc in Kerkrade, the Netherlands, will celebrate its 30th birthday this summer, from 24 July to 7 August 2011.

It will also be the last festival edition of founder and artistic director Stefan Metz. For this special 30th festival edition, seven first prize winners of international string quartet competitions have been invited to perform and teach at Rolduc, among which the Pavel Haas Quartet, Casals Quartet and Quator Danel.

Ensembles of music students (minimum three musicians) are very welcome at the Orlando Festival to study for one or two weeks with its renowned teachers. Participants will follow an intensive course, play concerts, listen to performances of other ensembles and their teachers and enjoy the great atmosphere at the festival, together with hundreds of other chamber music lovers. They can participate at the reduced fee of € 300 per person, which includes full board stay at Rolduc, all the lessons and a passe-partout for all festival activities. Ensembles of adult amateur musicians are very welcome at the festival, as well.
