European Chamber Music Teachers´ Association´s Annual Spring Meeting at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, Portugal on 26-28 April 2019

The ECMTA Annual Spring Meeting in the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa was filled with seminars, workshops and concerts from Friday till Sunday. We were glad to welcome Fernando Cunha Fontes PhD, from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, expert of the Portuguese chamber music as invited speaker. As a guest speaker, Gábor Monostori (Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest) gave a speech about the history of chamber music teaching at the F. Liszt Academy. Members Forum and thematic speeches provided insights into the chamber music practice, pedagogy and repertoire. As with several previous meetings, the ECMTA was meeting in parallel with the Annual Festival of Student Chamber Ensembles – this year, there were concerts by ensembles from Portugal, Poland and the Baltic States. In addition to the concerts of the Festival, 24 student ensembles participated in the masterclasses given by ECMTA professors.

The ECMTA wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the host of the meeting - the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML) for their tremendous support and cooperation.
